Membership

MIRATS offers a FREE membership to those who wish to be a part of the Society.

If you’d like to be part of an online-only society covering the state of Michigan, and socialize and hang out with other hams in the state then MIRATS is a great option for you. Many of our members are also active with local clubs, and MIRATS supports and attends many local club events a year.

Our network of members across the state lets MIRATS create a bridge between local clubs and hams from from other areas to bolster participation at local events.

We hang out on Discord, but also in real life. We do POTA roves, and run stations with local clubs for contests and field days. We’ve been known to show up at a park and operate POTA for a day, just on a whim. We also operate during the MI QSO Party, and placed 3rd in 2024.

MIRATS is open to young or old, new or seasoned, ham radio operators. Even unlicensed individuals who are interested in additional information and guidance on how to get licensed are welcome. We can provide information about testing sessions and license study methods, as well as have dialog about any ham radio topic you might have questions about.

It’s a “no strings attached” way of being in a Michigan-based FCC recognized amateur radio club.

Find us on Discord (a free social platform), or fill out the feedback form below to be contacted by a club member with more information.
